SCPHRP research seminar series no 3.: Clinical Audit: Application of its concepts in Public Health settings
This seminar will provide an introduction to clinical governance, clinical audit, audit vs research, audit cycle, steps in implementing clinical audit and application of its concept in public health setting with examples
A clinical audit is a process that has been defined as a quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes through systematic review of care against explicit criteria and the implementation of change. These principles can be applied at different settings including public health in view of ensuring quality.
It will be presented by Sinha De Silva, apost MD trainee in Community Medicine/Public Health from Sri Lanka, currently completing his overseas component of his Post MD training at SCPHRP, University of Edinburgh. He has his basic degree in Medicine, Masters, and Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees in Community Medicine from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has over ten years of work experience both at clinical as well as in public health settings.
