Out of Character Project: Sound Experimentation.

Here, I wanted to experiment with sound and how it can alter the way we see something or recognise something. After watching the film, ‘Notes on Blindness’ that was made from real voice recordings and real accounts of events from a man going blind. I found it really interesting how the film explores the relationship with sound through lack of sight and the disconnect between the two. I wanted to capture different sounds from around the house that you don’t really pay much attention to, ‘background’ nosies even and record them via my phone. I wanted to explore listening to them with the intention of really listening and how that changed my interaction with information gotten from sound. After doing this I though it was interesting how overwhelming it can be listing to background sounds as the main focus. I thought about linking visuals from how I made those sounds but with different sounds to create confusion between sight and sound, experimenting in how sound plays a big role in leading you to believe something or providing information.
