Being flexible in a challenging context

It is challenging to write about my real experience with the COVID-19 situation because every day is so different.

My new workplace!

I guess my overall lesson from this experience is to observe my mood and feelings and be compassionate with myself. Some days are more comfortable, and I have enough energy to work on my projects and have a social life. But other days are a complete disaster, and I cannot focus on my work at all. Regarding the last scenario, I am trying to not feel bad about it and support myself as much as I can. For example, I realised that if I am having a bad day, it is better to stop working rather than struggle with the negative feelings associated with not being able to focus or work. Instead, I engage in other activities such as watching Netflix, reading novels, or listening to music. On the other hand, when I have easier days, I feel that I have a lot of positive energy and try to work a lot (especially during mornings), but also do other things like talk with my friends and family from both my country and Edinburgh, exercise, try new meals, etc.

Being flexible with myself has been my best ally in this situation being able to recognise my moods and act accordingly without self-judgement.
