Weekly Changes – 20/04/2026

Another quiet week with just a few small updates, here are the details of the few notable changes…

LCFG network component

We are testing new support in the LCFG network component for specifying the metric for a route.

CEPH

The CEPH client header now provides a convenient macro for configuring a cephfs mount point, here are the details:

/* Macro to set up systemd mount/automount for cephfs
 * NAME = MOUNTPOINT with '/' replaced by '-' (e.g. var-lib-one-datastore)
 * SRVPATH = ceph server mountpoint e.g. user@.pool=/
 * MOUNTPOINT = local mount point (e.g. /var/lib/one/datastore)
 * MOUNTOPTS = Mount options (e.g. mon_addr=hosta/hostb/hostc,secretfile=/path/to/sekrit)
 */
#define CEPHFS_MOUNT(TAG,NAME,SRVPATH,MOUNTPOINT,MOUNTOPTS)

rsyslog

The LCFG rsyslog component package has been updated, there are just some tweaks to a utility script.

DICE sixkts certificate

There is a new DICE sixkts certificate for 2026.

Dell System Updater

The weekly dsu compliance check which is run on DICE Dell servers is now spread out over an hour to reduce problems with lots of hosts failing to download the index.
