One year on…
It’s hard to believe that it has been a year since the pandemic began, but here we are!
In April 2020, we created the short online course, COVID-19 Critical Care: Understanding and Application, to meet the pressing needs of healthcare workers around the globe. I worked closely with the team to build the course on FutureLearn in the record time of just two weeks.
Now, one year on, 50,000 learners from 200 countries have enrolled on the course and benefitted from free, open access to key resources. As we’re nearing the end of the third run, the course will remain open (without facilitation) on FutureLearn, so that healthcare professionals can continue to use the materials as and when they need.
To capture the success of the course, McGraw Hill have produced this fantastic video, which highlights how the course has helped clinical staff to refresh their knowledge, as well as support their own and each other’s wellbeing.
It has been (and continues to be) a very challenging period in everyone’s lives, and I think I echo the team’s feelings when I say we are incredibly proud of this work and very pleased that the course has helped such a large number of people on a global scale.
