ABC Learning Design: Moving Online
ABC Learning Design is a hands-on, collaborative workshop in which academic teams map out learning sequences of content to create a storyboard for their course. Originally developed at UCL, it is used across the University and beyond, and has been key in the redesign and development of on-campus courses for hybrid teaching and learning.
With the pandemic forcing everyone to stay at home (for a lot longer than we thought!) and digital education demands increasing, there has been a need for learning design services to made available remotely and perhaps more widely than ever before.
The Online Course Production (OCP) team has been working over the past months to adapt, test, and run ABC workshops fully online to support the creation of online courses using simple, University-supported technology.
We now have a new page on the website that academic colleagues and subject matter experts can visit to find out how to prepare for a workshop and what’s involved, as well as key information about learning types and activities. It also outlines the benefits of completing an ABC workshop, both from a content author and online learner perspective.
