The keynote speaker is Dr Gill Westhorp, Director of Community Matters, a consultancy business based in South Australia. Community Matters undertakes service, program and project evaluation and specialises in realist evaluation (not just ’Does this work?’, but ’For whom, in what contexts, and how does it work?’)
Gill has undertaken realist evaluations in health, education, and early intervention, and regularly supports other evaluators and academics in realist evaluation design. She has also contributed to four realist syntheses and is a member of the core research team developing standards for realist synthesis. She provides professional development in realist methods around the world.
The day will also feature two short presentations from:
- Lawrence Doi (Stirling University) – A realistic evaluation of Alcohol Brief Interventions (ABIs) in the antenatal setting
- Liz Levy (Scottish Government) – Parole and Recidivism: a realist inspired evaluation.
