Character Building Project: Capturing hand movement.
The process of making this piece was something I wanted to study too, especially the way my hands moved or where on the page they went to create this blind drawing. I though having the images of my hands as part of the drawing in the different stages added a 3D aspect to them and showed the body being a bigger part rather then the traces left by my hands in the marks. I used a black oil bar to really have a malleable material that didn’t try fast and moulded to all the lines and folds of my hands, allowing my hands to work as a tool and transfer the material onto the paper. This processed worked well in capturing in a visual way that Asher is a hands on person.
