Character Building Project: Development with white paint on black paper.

Working with white paint on black paper, these had a different quality then the rest. These works looked like dramatic examinations of the hands and where they have been on the page, tracking the hands, the palms and the fingers. The white paint also added depth in areas that the hand’s weight pressed down or in areas the hands repeated their course of movement. I though these pieces really captured the presence of a hands on person.

These inspired me to looking at this imagery of uv light being shined to pick up prints for evidence. I though this was an interesting comparison to make when I’m using hands as a way to visually explore someone’s identity. I thought this was something worth exploring further in my work to see if I can capture more ‘evidence’ of Asher hands.
