During this session we each playtested our modifiable tool/kits within our basho groups. This gave us an opportunity to test our ideas by reproducing (as much as was practical) the set parameters of the upcoming workshop – the most relevant of these parameters being:
- a strict 15 – minute time slot in which to execute each individual workshop
- a 5 – minute turnaround time to get set-up for the next group
- the expectation of around 4-6 participants for each “round” of each individual workshop
- the expectation that each workshop would be ran 3-4 times, with different participants each time
This “real-time” test of our tool/kits was invaluable as it highlighted the importance of proper planning and realistic timing for the introduction, explanation and execution of our workshops. The playtest also reiterated to me the importance of clear instructions or “prompts” as a means of facilitating participation in the work.
