Digital Footprints and Nursing Studies

As part of the MSc course entitled Professional and personal development http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/health/nursing-studies/postgraduate/cpd/professional-development students were given an insight to the best way to manage their digital footprint. When asked to articulate ‘what eProfessionalisem mean for you’ students noted a myriad of words which were then used for a wordle image.

The session, led by Dr Louise Connelly (the driving force behind the digital footprints portal http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/institute-academic-development/about-us/projects/digital-footprint ) was well received with a few students remarking that this is an element of their professional practice that they have never considered before.

Also in a way to raise awareness about managing an effective online presence or digital footprint, Holly Sutherland also has raised awareness of E-professionalism and Nursing through a blog post.

”Be safe, not stupid, Use your online presences to further your career, not compromise it.

SHARE GREAT STUFF – AND IF YOU AREN’T SURE THAT IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO SHARE SOMETHING, DON’T DO IT!”

Great advice from Holly on the importance for Nursing Students and online presence.
