Weekly Changes – 15/05/2023

Most of the changes for this week are again related to the Jammy platform work. Here are the details of all the notable changes…

Ubuntu Jammy

Details of recent progress on the Ubuntu Jammy platform are now recorded separately, see the latest report.

Kernel

The SL7 INF_TEST kernel is now version 3.10.0-1160.90.1.el7

OpenAFS

The default version for OpenAFS is now 1.8.9, support for 1.8.8 will be removed soon.

KVM

The Ubuntu Focal KVM packages list was never used so it has been removed to avoid confusion, the LCFG_OPTIONS_KVM_CLIENT package option is supported in the standard options packages list.

Research and Teaching Packages

It was discovered that the DICE Research and Teaching (RAT) packages list was being included twice for Ubuntu profiles. This had some interesting side-effects, in particular it was masking some package dependency issues with LLVM and Clang.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists.
