Weekly Changes – 29/08/2022
A fairly quiet week, the only notable change is the ongoing work on porting the PXE service to Ubuntu. It’s worth noting that Ubuntu has been updated to 20.04.5, we’ve not noticed any issues with the new minor release.
PXE Service
Work on adding support for hosting a PXE service on Ubuntu is now almost complete. The locations of the kernel and initrd files have been updated for the new TFTP directory structure. We’re still in the process of testing the new service, in particular UEFI support may still need some changes, hopefully, that will happen this week.
If you prefer to serve files over HTTP rather than TFTP, the ed-level header now supports an ED_OPTIONS_PXE_WEBSERVER
macro which can be used to specify a web location.
