Weekly Changes – 28/06/2021

A very quiet week with almost no changes for external sites. Here are the full details…

Network

There is a new schema (version 7) for the network component on Ubuntu. This adds a params_$ sub-resource for the entries in the interfaces tag list. Each parameter tag has an associated param_val_$_$ resource and, optionally, may have a param_key_$_$. Currently this is only actually used for bond and bridge devices. This requires version 2.3.3 of the network component which will be the default on Ubuntu next week.

Sites on Ubuntu with an interest in creating bridge network devices could helpfully do some testing and provide feedback on the recent network component changes.

The network component documentation has been improved to provide examples for many common scenarios. User feedback on the documentation would be very helpful.
