What’s Next? Thinking about life after your degree

Many thanks to Kirsten Roche, Careers Consultant for Graduate Support, for highlighting how final year undergraduate students can access tailored careers support…

Being at University can be all-consuming, so it is understandable that lots of students find it tough to plan for what might come after. Working as a Careers Consultant to support students with their careers has definitely shown me that worrying about what comes next is very common. January can be a time when final year students feel this anxiety, after a festive break fielding questions from well-meaning relatives about what comes next?

What’s Next? Campaign

That’s why this January, the Careers Service is asking all final year undergraduates, “What’s Next?” We want to make planning for your future as straightforward as possible. If you are a final year undergraduate, then take a minute to let us know what stage you are at in planning for life after graduation, by answering one question via this MyCareerHub form:

Tell us What’s Next for you

The form closes on Monday, 6th February 2023 and your responses are confidential. We will then send you a tailored email outlining actions you can take to move forward. Whether you have no idea what to do or you have a graduate job lined up, we have resources available to support you.

Graduate Toolkits

If you can’t wait for our reply, then have a look at our three toolkits for graduates; these are designed to offer practical support whether you have no ideas, have been struggling with the application process or you have a job and want to plan to make an impact:

Remember, you can continue to use the Careers Service as a graduate. We know not everyone walks straight into the career that they want after University, which is why all of our support continues for the next two years. Find out more about our support for graduates:
