Spring Equinox, when the Earth is equally balanced in daylight and darkness at all latitudes and signals the beginning of the Spring season.
This time of years also signals a beginning in the veterinary student world… Spring Lambing! Students head to all over the UK to help farmers during this busy and intensive time. Although lambing is hard and demanding work, in the light of it all, us students get to feed wee lambs, care for their mothers and appreciate the importance of the collaboration between farmer and veterinarian during this time. I will be spending two weeks on a farm in Northumberland helping to lamb 650+ ewes and I can’t wait!
It’s hard to believe I’m almost done with my first year of vet school. I am beyond grateful for the amazing faculty and student body at the R(D)SVS who have been such productive and joyful people.
Spring brings many wonderful things to Scotland. More daylight, blooming flowers, chirping birds and lambs. I hope you all enjoy these beautiful days and stay balanced.
