It’s World Mental Health Day 10 October 2024
This year the focus is on ‘It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace’.
We are all more aware these days of the importance of looking after our mental health and that getting out into a green space and connecting with nature can bring physical and mental health benefits. Healthy eating and getting enough sleep helps us too. Eating fruit, vegetables and whole grains rather than processed food. Taking time to enjoy the outdoors, taking part in hobbies we enjoy and meeting up socially with friends and family all go towards keeping us well.
But sometimes we need to reach out for some help and support. Here at the CRF we have a team of Mental Health First Aiders who can help provide support and guidance for staff.
And there are various resources online through University of Edinburgh, NHS Lothian and external.
Supporting your Mental Health (UoE) Help in a crisis, Staff Counselling service, The University Listening Service, Self help resources.
