There will be more police bike marking on site on Tuesday, the 4th of May from 10am-1pm. This will be located at the usual location in the covered entrance outside of the Outpatients Department (near Porterfield Road). This is another freebie (that will save you the £12 or so that you would have to pay online).
Many of you will have heard of the Scottish Cycle Repair Scheme that has been running the last year. This scheme will be coming to an end sometime soon (possibly the end of May), so if anyone has any repairs they need to get done for their bike, I urge you to get this done while the scheme is still open! Below is a link to some information about the scheme (up to £50 of free repairs), which includes a map of participating shops. Some of these shops have already used up their vouchers, so make sure you contact them beforehand to see if they still have slots open. Recently a BUG member had her bike picked up from the WGH and repaired during work hours from http://www.allbikes-edinburgh.com/ who participate in the scheme (this is by no means an endorsement, but may help some of our staff who find themselves stuck while on site!). It is a great scheme and helps support local bike businesses, so please make sure to share it with others you know that cycle.

I got a snapped bike chain replaced using this scheme last year. It was really straightforward but, yes, you need to contact them beforehand to make sure they can book you in.
