Free Community Journalism Course

Do you…

➥ Live in Edinburgh

➥ Want to develop your skills to research and tell stories?

➥ Have an interest in your local parks, gardens, rivers or outdoor spaces

➥ Want to see your work published in a professionally designed print magazine?

If so, you’re invited to apply for the GroundsWell Community Reporter Programme.

This free, online six-week programme supports participants to develop original stories about their communities and the work happening around the green and blue spaces within them. You’ll work with experienced journalists and editors to shape your ideas, carry out interviews, and turn your experiences into stories that can be shared widely.

You don’t need any previous experience of journalism – just curiosity, commitment, and an interest in your community and urban green and blue spaces.

The training will take place online from 6–7:30pm on Tuesday evenings from 3 March to 7 April. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 17 February.
