  1. Register your own sole proprietorship. Learn to manage your own finances, keep invoices, receipts and create a separate bank account.


  1. To stay healthy, a regular work schedule is best. Illustrators need not only to practice, but also to gain life experience in order to be able to create work that moves people.


  1. Have a separate working space where you can fully immerse yourself in your work and through the studio environment also provide inspiration and enjoyment of the creative process.


  1. Learn to plan your weekly schedule and meet regularly with other illustrators to share your ideas and listen to their suggestions. Know what other illustrators are doing too.


  1. Learn to promote yourself and how to attract clients and use social media to build your brand.


  1. Learn how to contact clients directly.


  1. Plan your career well.
