Google glass bid – Nursing studies on YouTube

An exciting opportunity presented itself when a group of us (students and staff) put a bid to get 8 pairs of Google Glasses to be used as a teaching tool in the clinical skills lab.

The idea was to get a simulated patient to wear the Glass and capture the way a student nurse interacts with them to provide Person Centred Care. Students would get a copy of the recording and use it to reflect on their practice as well as present some aspect of their work to peers. This ‘digital assets’ will be reviewed again in the final year of studies to capture the way the individual has professionally grown.
