Dear All,

Thank you for your work this week.

Thank you to everyone who helped in managing the major internet outage incident on Thursday. It was ‘specially timed to give Myles a scare as he takes over as interim Head of DLAM from the start of May.

You will have seen the news that some of our academic colleagues are embarking on a marking and assessment boycott (MAB). The UCU as a union also includes non- academic membership, but this kind of action tends to focus on their work and the impact it has on students who are waiting for their marks and graduations. If you are ever interested in attending a graduation, sitting on the stage and clapping, do let me know, there’s a form we can fill in.

Speaking of forms to fill in, if you have 10–15 minutes to spare, our WAC team are currently doing some research to understand how digital design tools support work across the University. We’ve put together a short survey and would really appreciate your input: Design Tools Usage Survey (10 – 15 min) (v2) – Fill in form and if that triggers you to improve your skills, there’s training available Digital Skills, Design and Training | Help | Information Services
