Friday 1st May
Dear All,
Thank you for your work this week.
Happy May Day morning. I trust you have all been up Arthurs Seat this morning washing your face in the dew.
While the weather has been lovely I have appreciated seeing you all together in Forrest Hill Drill Hall. I hope you are managing to find each other. I am pleased that the system for using lockers, booking desks and spaces seems to be (mostly) working for our teams and LTW community. Congratulations to Nikki, Lee-Ann, Ellen and Colin who all passed their Change Management foundation exam on Wednesday and are sweating their practitioner exam today. Once they are all properly issued with their change management super-powers, who knows what will happen?!
If there is other training you need, or want to join the next CMALT cohort Interested in becoming a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT)? Ask your line manager.
Speaking of training, I know you will be preparing yourself for our upcoming mandatory training day. I can see that 11 of you are leaving nothing to chance and have already completed. LST have taken the opportunity to try to get an early lead over the Directors office. Game on.
While you are in P&M, remember to update your personal details. Check that your emergency contact details are up to date, and your work location is now listed correctly (which building are you mostly in?). Apparently only 30% of persons have checked their disability status, so remember to update yours even if it is none, or ‘prefer not to say’.
It was lovely to see Ricarda featured in the Infosec newsletter.
We waved goodbye to Karen From Nokia 3310s to Learn Ultra: Karen Howie’s 22-Year Journey at the University of Edinburgh
and with good wishes we will soon send off Ellen ( for a while) too.
May your celebrations of Beltane, May Day bank holiday, Star Wars Day and Cinco de Mayo bring you joy and a bit of time to read all the electioneering bumf coming through your letter box.
