Title: Virtual Atlas of Veterinary Anatomy (VAVA)

Author: Michelle Davidson

Theme: Innovation & Creativity in Teaching

A visual sneak peek at the Veterinary Anatomy Virtual Atlas (VAVA) student lead project. An innovative project incorporating breaking-edge technology of photogrammetry scans and 3D models for an interactive teaching tool for veterinary anatomy. See how manipulating an anatomy model and isolating key landmarks could improve your learning experience. Carefully scripted annotations will provide anatomical information, explanations, and clinical relevance. Additional high-resolution scans of real cadavers will be linked to see examples of natural anatomical distributions in 3D virtual space. The current goal funded by the Student Experience Grant is to demonstrate the use and potential of this virtual teaching tool and show a taste of what could be included in a full-scale version of the program. Follow our progress to see how you can be involved in future testing sessions.
