Information for families, caregivers and early years staff.

We hope that our findings will help parents and early years staff to interact with young children in ways that encourage them to learn and use a wider range of sentence types. We expect that the more children hear and use complex structures, the better they will be at understanding and producing these structures. If our results confirm this, we would suggest that caregivers and early years staff use more complex language when speaking with young children and give children more opportunities to repeat these kinds of sentences.
