Weekly Changes – 10/11/2025

There’s some further changes to the apt headers this week. Here are the details of all the notable changes…

Apt Repository Configuration

It is now possible to specify which OS repository component and package type are enabled by default for a site. LCFG_APT_DISTRO_TYPES defaults to deb deb-src, and LCFG_APT_DISTRO_COMPS to main universe multiverse restricted, as before.

The backports repository is now only configured if LCFG_APT_DISTRO_BACKPORTS is enabled, and defaults to not being enabled.

The following configs have additionally moved:

  • OpenAFS – ed/options/repos/openafs.h or ED_OPTIONS_PACKAGES_OPENAFS

Kernel

The INF_TEST kernel series for Jammy has now been updated to the 6.8.0 HWE series to match Noble. The INF series will be updated after the end of semester.

EntraID component

This has been added to the runner component to run daily.
