Weekly Changes – 29/09/2025

This week has the usual updates and just a few minor changes, here are the details of the few notable changes…

Slurm Munge service

There is a new LCFG header – lcfg/options/munge.h – which can be included to support running the Slurm Munge authentication service. The DICE header has been updated accordingly to use the new LCFG header.

Kernel

The INF_TEST kernel series has been updated on Jammy to 5.15.0-156 and on Noble to 6.8.0-84.

nvidia

There is now support for the new nvidia 580 series. Note that this will only be supported by Ubuntu for the very latest kernels, it will not work with the current INF kernel series version.

Software

There is a new package option – LCFG_OPTIONS_PROMETHEUS – which can be used to include the packages for the Prometheus monitoring system software. Note this is for the packages provided in the Ubuntu distribution, not the very latest upstream release.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists.
