Weekly Changes – 09/10/2023

A very quiet week, most sites will not notice any changes beyond the weekly security updates. Here are the details for the, very few, notable changes…

nvidia

On Ubuntu the nvidia driver has been downgraded to version 535.54.03. This is the most recent version which has binary module packages that are supported by all the kernels we have listed in the lcfg and ed-level kernel package lists. This resolves a number of problems we saw last week when using the INF kernel. The package list needs further work to allow different versions to be used for each kernel version.

Console Server

On Ubuntu the Systemd conserver-server.service has gained a reload method. This makes it possible to reload the configuration without disconnecting all existing sessions. The LCFG conserver component has been updated to use the new reload method whenever the configuration changes.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists.
