学園祭レポート２０２３

インタビューでは、日本の学生に学園祭の経験について話しました。学園祭は主に学生主導で行われて、ライブパフォーマンス、インタラクティブショー、音楽、食事など、日本の伝統的な芸術や文化を紹介することに重点を置いていることがわかりました。生徒達や家族や友達にとって、大人気です。日本の生徒の学園祭について話はとても面白くて、その他に、後輩とインタビューで尋ねる質問を書いてくれたことができました。

In the interview, we talked to Japanese students about their experiences of gakuensai (campus festivals). We found out that gakuensai are mostly student-led and often focus on showcasing traditional Japanese arts or culture, often with live performances, interactive shows, music, and food. They are very popular among students and their families and friends. It was very interesting to talk with these Japanese students about their views on gakuensai and it enabled us to engage with our kohai and help them to write questions to ask in the interview.

わたしたちの学園祭には、伝統のメロンパンとクロテンクッキーを作りました。餅と玄米茶も買って売っていました。商品が人気なので、最終的にほぼすべてを販売し、約 25 ポンドの利益を上げました。他のグループは、寿司などの伝統的な日本食を作ったり、カラオケなどのゲームを主催したりしました。去年の学園祭と比べると、今年の学園祭はり多くの方にご参加いただけるよう、規模も大きくなりました。まとめると、面白い経験だったので、来年の東京滞在中に同様の学園祭を楽しみにしています!

For our own gakuensai we decided to bake traditional Japanese meronpan (melon bread) and sable cookies. We also bought mochi and green tea to sell. These items were very popular, and we ended up selling almost all of them and making a profit of approximately £25. Other groups made traditional Japanese food like sushi and hosted games like karaoke. Compared to last year’s gakuensai it was much bigger with more variety of stalls as more people were able to participate. Overall, it was a very fun experience and I look forward to experiencing similar campus festivals during my stay in Tokyo next year!
