Gakuensai was a very fun experience! My group did a food and drink stall as well as a hiragana card game. It was nice to see everyone in the group add and do their part so it could become an interesting and variety-filled stall. All the other stalls were great too, I particularly enjoyed doing the origami workshop. From what I learned about Gakuensai in Japan; it seems the event would be much larger in scale with lots of amazing activities because the whole university and its clubs participate. There would be more food and workshops to try, such as calligraphy and takoyaki. Further, there would be other activities like performances or cafés. Therefore, after experiencing Gakuensai in Edinburgh, I really want to do a Gakuensai in Japan. Now, I have even more reason to be excited and look forward to my third year abroad!
