Online training for staff: Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence
The University of Edinburgh is committed to creating an environment where students feel that they can speak to staff to seek advice, raise a concern or report something that may be affecting them.
As part of this, we want to ensure that staff are fully prepared to be able to handle a student reporting sexual violence. Although we already have specialist staff who are trained to provide assistance to these students, individuals often confide in people they know and trust so there is always the possibility that a student who has experienced sexual abuse or harassment may disclose it to any member of staff.
In the event that this happens, we want to ensure that all staff have the knowledge, skills and awareness to be able to handle disclosures or reports of sexual violence safely. We are therefore asking staff to take the time to complete our Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence training course which provides high-quality, interactive and comprehensive training on the first response to disclosures.
The route into the course is:
- Log into: EASE/MyEd
- Go to: Learn
- Choose: Self enrol
- Scroll down to: Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence
- Enrol
