Short Talk on Case Studies

In this short talk I will cover a range of case studies of small scale collective organising of two student projects, one from Glasgow University and one from Bard College and then I will discuss a range of projects I have worked on including The Pipe Factory Least Event Glasgow International, School of Commons, Arts Across Learning Festival, Siena Art Institute, Dear Green ZKU Berlin, Temporary Art School and Glasgow Open House.

Collective Considerations: Thematics, Design

We will break out into groups around those who are covering concepts and themes which may compliment and/or contrast with one another. We will do this twice, once with those who explicitly relate to your project, and once with those who differ and are not in your basho. In each group, give a short 1 min intro to your approach and project. As a group discuss the similarities, differences, possibilities and potential between your projects curatorially, conceptually and practically.

🧠 Collective Constellation of Thematics, everyone pitch in.

🧠 Collective Title Brainstorm, everyone pitch in.

Collective Considerations: Organisation, Skills & Roles

We will break out into groups relating to skills and roles you will play in the collective effort of delivering the project as a year group. Look at the draft template, roles and areas laid out on the tables but adapt and amend as a group as you need. Go towards the table where you think your skillset lies. Once seated, give one min short intro to your skills/experience and then discuss as a group how you are going to plan and work together. Report back to the whole cohort.

🧠 Collective Timeline Planner, everyone pitch in.

🧠 Collective Tasklist, everyone pitch in.

🧠 Any further considerations and questions for the group? Problem solve.
