Curating /// Week 3

Week 3 /// Tuesday

10.30am-12.30 Workshop with James Clegg (Curator, Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh)

Following a brief visit to Talbot Rice Gallery, recalling its spaces and design, curator James Clegg will lead a 90-minute workshop with you to conceptualise an exhibition and learn what would be required to develop and deliver it.

Whilst the exhibition proposal will evolve through your input to become a unique proposition, the aim of the workshop will be to introduce you to the professional processes that the gallery team employ to realise their ambitious projects. From understanding the relationship between ideas and audience experience, to funding, budgets, marketing, shipping, installation and outreach, this will give you a creative insight into the various aspects of exhibition-making.

This workshop will support the development of your own Curatorial Pitch for your individual curatorial project in Week 5. We will all meet at the gallery to begin the session.
