In this public lecture, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Official Historian, George Hay, explored the Empire of the dead – the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Scotland, and the birth of modern commemoration.

This event was hosted by the University of Edinburgh in collaboration with National Museums Scotland. One of its key external partners is the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

 

The lecture took place on the 19th April 2023 at 6.30pm BST, at the National Museum of Scotland.
