Week 6 Preparation of the venue and exhibits

Spaces
  • SummerHall

This week, I mainly thought about the venue for the exhibition.
On Tuesday, I visited SummerHall with my classmates YiRong, ChenYan and XiaoDong.

We feel that SummerHall is a comprehensive venue with many areas, but for detailed information we need to email SummerHall to ask.

  • ECA

There are some spaces in ECA that can be booked on Bookit, as I prefer C02 as a venue considering that I have installation artworks for my exhibition that need to be displayed. However, the venue for ECA’s C02 can only be booked four weeks in advance, so reservations are not yet available.

Artworks
  • Installation artwork — Love Letter

I have contacted the artist of this artwork and received permission to show her artwork. However, as the artwork is a bit heavy, I need to consider how to transport it from London to Edinburgh.

  • Illustration artwork — Embracing in the Snow

The artist of this work has been contacted and permission to display it has been obtained.

The illustration was inspired by the Japanese film and TV series “First Love”, which will be broadcast by Netflix in 2022. The creator was deeply moved by the love between the hero and heroine in the snow at the airport in Iceland, which led to the creation of this work.

  • Prints — 我爱你 I Love You

I have searched various platforms for contact information for this work, but none of them have been found yet. I knew it was the graduation design work of the 2021 undergraduate class of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, so I went to the university’s official website to find it and left a message to the president’s mailbox.
