Mini-exhibition self-reflection

   (p1)

(p2)

  • What kinds of clients do you imagine would be interested in this work (what are the potential applications)?

I intended to include the two works above in my own zine, which is a illustration magazine with aspects of my life. When my friends see my works, they are attracted by the looking of the character, and curious about the story of her/him. For me, I want to have fashion, comic, life diary elements in my zine with designed layout. Ideally, I imagine clients who love art could drawn by my drawing style, and they enjoy fragments of everything instead of a concentrated topic in a zine. I don’t have high technique of drawing to stun my audiences, so artists and people purely like art (illustration) that may be interested in certain sensitivity in my works are my clients. The potential application could be magazine cover/poster, comic, or simply decorative drawings that could be hung on the wall.

  • What suggestion(s) do you have for the artist to help reach their stated goals for this semester?

My goal for this semester is to keep drawing, and steady my own drawing language. Also, I want to draw things I usually won’t draw. Last semester, I focused on monochrome ink drawing. This semester I want to go color instead (I usually make a mess when too many colors involved). While practicing my skill through everyday sketch, I plan to start to build things out of imagination based on real life forms. 1-2 hours of drawing everyday(digitally/ physically) is my suggestion for myself this semester.
