Art Assignment: Unlearning (Crosstalk)

The professor led us through an art practice in the common space of the main art building. Without knowing it, we answered the magical question left by our former companion on the post. We were confused but enjoyed it. The answer to this practice is revealed in the following unlearn study.

First of all, we were asked to write our impressions of Unlearn, and at the same time, we could use the cards we just collected. What I first thought of was some bad emotions and feelings, such as sorrow, guilty, stubborn. Later, inspired by his peers, he joined the familiar environment.

Under the guidance of the teacher, we summarize and categorize the ideas written by the members of the group. We are divided into emotional categories, state for learning, and for unfamiliar environments. Next, we were switched to the opposite group, the difference was really big. The classification of Blue basho is more specific and practical.

After observing the viewpoints of the two groups, Teacher Jake guided us on how to think about unlearn, which took us a long time to understand. The truth is a bit difficult to understand, but Mr Jake patiently wrote down examples for us and guided us to form a complete thinking process.

After discussing with Jake’s teacher and team members, I almost understood the essence of what the teacher said. This thinking process is to help us build our own workshop and put forward guiding questions and explanations for participants. Our role is no longer a single student to do, but also learn how to show, express and explain. These have reconstructed my thinking system and brought me unprecedented experience.

Furthermore, I continued to discuss the course with other team members, and we shared our understanding of the course after class. Dave patiently explained his understanding to us, which made us more clearly understand the significance of the Unlearn course. Shu Rui also shared the discussion opinions of blue basho for us, and together we re-understood the unlearn model written by Professor Neil. Although all these are challenging, they really let me learn a lot. I believe it will be of great help to the follow-up courses.
