Jack gave us a great example this week: baking bread, a fun activity I still remember to this day. He created a baking guide for kids to teach them how to make bread. Through the process of practice, they can read the materials and methods in the manual and make it by themselves. The whole process seems simple, but this kind of experience of open learning and sharing is worth learning and learning.

So back to the problem situation —
I was asked to research, design, run and document an ‘open’ workshop to teach an aspect of my practice to a group of peers. I’m not sure what a “practice” is, or if I have one! How can I solve this problem? I’m also not sure what “teaching” might be involved in “disclosing”. If I do have practice, how can I support others to learn it frankly?

โšซ๏ธI divide this problem scenario into three parts:ย  How to design an open workshop?ย  How to spread it so that more people can learn it?ย  What problem do I need to solve?

I chose Floral Collage.

  1. First, a floral collage is a great way to slim down. The important thing is to be calm, focused, and civilized.
  2. Secondly, collage can expand your imagination and hands-on ability
  3. The last and most important point is that in the process of the Flower Academy, you need to have great patience, and people will gradually calm down slowly. Be careful in everything, how you cut and arrange the petals can show your courage. In the process of studying such a flower academy, people will gradually become cheerful and happy.

Learners can learn through on-site production and mutual appreciation of other people’s excellent works.

Art does not have the best work, but it is important to develop patience and appreciate their learning attitude

โšซ๏ธLearners do:

1. Look ahead to some excellent jigsaw puzzles

2. On-site practice

3. After the end, watch the video of the practice process repeatedly to accumulate experience and practice by yourself.

โšซ๏ธPeople and places:

In an empty classroom, for all ages.
โšซ๏ธName:
Title the event “Inspirational Collage on a Flower Theme”
It’s ostensibly a greeting card with flowers, but flowers can be made into a lot of fun collages
โšซ๏ธMaterial:
Scene: glue\scissors\various collage materials (I collected some newspapers and pamphlets, and cut out the interesting content as collage materials)
Computer: flower collage png material
(I will sort out my collage experience and a large number of excellent collage works that need to be watched and collected, and then start the practice.)
โšซ๏ธTwo ways to open:
One for Field Personnel \ Another for Network Personnel
Through the live broadcast on social media, people across the country can start parquet together. Video recording can better record production details and production methods, so that people can watch it repeatedly on public platforms.
โšซ๏ธstep:
  1. Share my collage experience and some tips.
  2. Everyone chooses and matches according to the materials on site
  3. 5 minute creative phase
  4. Appreciate everyone’s work and introduce your creativity in a lonely way
  5. Take photos to record, record and review (my final improvement is: make a small greeting card and exchange it with other people present)
โšซ๏ธWhat method can you use?
Throughout the process, I also gather experiences, reflections and actions through the OER structure model. It is necessary to set a preliminary goal, but in the process of practice, there will always be many problems, such as some professional flower collage problems, how to communicate with people, etc. Then I also prepare the preset responses, such as preparing some candy and food for people, playing some of their favorite songs, and creating a comfortable environment for them to immerse themselves better.

  1. This is a helpful ost Zhiqian. You cover almost all aspects of the Problem Scenario, including the all important requirement of making this openly accessible. The one thing you don’t address is this section:

” Iโ€™m not sure what a โ€˜practiceโ€™ is, or if I have one! How can I figure this out? ”

To address this head-on, you need to return to the learning resources on ‘practice’. Address flower collage as-a-practice. What makes it a practice? How can you understand it as such before you present it to others as ‘your’ inhabited practice? I think posting a reply that addresses this will be really useful here.

  2. The blogger has documented her practical project in a very specific and logical way, which is very different from other blogs I have seen. You are very clear about what you are going to do and divide it down specifically into reasons, steps, materials, ways, etc. This will guide you in your final practice. Reading your blog is very inspiring to me and I think I should be more specific in laying out the steps of my practice project.

  3. In zhiqian Zhang’s post, a new method of practise is introduced: floral collage. The entire process is developed, and she fully utilises the creative philosophy of OER, which has tremendously inspired me.
