In fact, the view of social constructivism mainly emphasizes culture, not endowment but a dominant paradigm in contemporary art. I did a performance art design about empathy before, and I tried shooting with a catheter. This is something that requires two people to work together. The entanglement of conduits forms our paradox. Tears are the only way we communicate directly, any art needs a bond as a bridge to connect
This project is about “empathy” in intimate relationships. Inspired by my own experience. I’ve found that the closer we are, the less we can understand each other. Especially sad emotions. In a relationship, most girls are used to crying to express their emotions and needs, and it is difficult for boys to understand why girls always cry. In fact, love is more complicated than other feelings.
Sometimes neither side can budge, so sadness is more difficult to convey and resonate. So in this project, I tried to express my feelings in various ways, and finally, I chose to express them in the form of a performance. During the performance, I put tears into my partner’s eyes, and finally, his tears flowed out again. I wanted to give a more intuitive experience in this way, and at the same time, as a performer, I could better convey my feelings.
