Through the Window

‘In a single lifetime we have gore into a phenomenal global force. We move more sediment and rock annually than all natural processes such as erosion and rivers, We manage three quarters of all land outside ice sheets. Greenhouse gas levels this high have not been seen for over one million years. Temperatures are increasing. We have mad a hole in the ozone layer. We are losing biodiversity. Many of the world’s deltas are sinking our to damming, minning and other causes. Sea level is rising. Ocean acidification is a real threat. We are altering Earth’s natural cycles. We have entered the Anthropocene, a new geological epoch dominated by humanity.’

– Globaia, Welcome to the Anthropocene

I have manipulated the visual cliché of a greenhouse to shown the confinement of the vegetation within. The heat from the internal environment cause condensation upon the glass as the flora press up against the pains of glass as a visual metaphor for the lack of space and consideration by humans. The inclusion of the vertical muntin within the composition of each image show that anthropocentric need for control and superiority.
