On 4th October, Lachlan did a talk for the first in a new series “No Harm Done” hosted at InSpace by the Edinburgh Futures Institute, Design Informatics and Edinburgh design consultancy Nile.
Lachlan acted as the ‘academic provocateur’ in a series of lightning talks alongside Catriona Melton, Senior Associate from DLA Piper and Neil Collman Design Director at Nile. This event focused on “Unmasking the Algorithm Transparency and accountability in AI decision-making”
The event was well attended with industry practitioners, designers, academics and students and following the talks was some active breakout groups and collective discussion around the challenges AI poses for ethics and design, but also the opportunities from design methods. The next one is
