During the first week of term, I was lucky enough to be able to film Andrew Bailie, the Partnerships Manager for Social Bite, at the formal opening of the Social Bite café at Rainy Hall.

This was at a whole-School afternoon tea, following the opening lecture of the year by Professor Stewart ‘Jay’ Brown.

Andrew told us about Social Bite’s past, present and future as a social business which works to help homeless people. He described his own experiences of Social Bite, and about their aims as ‘partners’ with the School of Divinity.

It was a very enlightening talk.

You can see the video, which I edited and subtitled, on the ‘School of Divinity Edinburgh’ YouTube channel, here:

Since then, students and staff have got to know some of the dedicated and hard-working people, working hard to provide us with all the different food that Social Bite has to offer.

The café sells a variety of hot and cold dishes, teas, coffees, tray bakes and more, all on offer at a good price, with the added bonus of being able to help out a good cause.
