Warm congratulations to Bart and Pragya who have both gained promoted posts in the Digital Skills Design and Training Team leading our charge to train as many people how to use AI responsibly as we possibly can.

We also wave goodbye to Ursula Doyle who has left our captioning service team.

In university finance news, the price of a zipped, branded hoodie has increased! If you have a shop voucher that you haven’t yet used and you would like an additional top-up voucher to enable you to access the coloured and zipped range, let me know.

Brace yourself for strike action in Welcome Week Edinburgh University staff announce six days of strike action – BBC News. The ‘action short of a strike’ includes the usual mention of not uploading digital materials for classes missed. If anyone asks you for clarity on what that means with regard to our systems, let me know.

Great to see you using your ‘day to make a difference’ A Day to Make a Difference – DSDT visit the Grassmarket Community Project. In other community-facing news, the Learning Spaces Technology teams have been supporting community groups across the city to make use of our rooms, spaces and AV. Lesley estimates that we have seen 6,000 hours of community bookings which saves those groups around £48,000 in venue hire fees. It’s a good thing we do.
