Dear All,

Thank you for your work this week.

Congratulations to Martin Wilson who is the new LST service team supervisor for the Kings Buildings campus. Martin joined LST as a technician around 1 year ago and before that also spent much of his working life in the University, working for an external contractor installing and repairing AV systems in our teaching rooms. As well as leading a team of technical staff at Kings Buildings, Martin will now also look after teaching rooms in a campus filled with cutting edge technologies such as LED video walls – and also chalkboards.

Martin’s place on the technicians’ shift rota will be filled by Jamie Byers. Jamie originally joined LST on a fixed term contract late last year to help with the additional workload caused by RAAC and contingency teaching spaces. Jamie, a former colleague of Martin’s, will now to the LST Service Team.

As spring seems to have sprung, I have discovered a new use for the handy digital skills fans. If you find a large bumble bee crawling on the pavement use your fan to scoop her up and give her a lift into a nearby flower.
