Hi, I’m Mei Yen Liew, Year 2.
The people in Edinburgh are very welcoming, polite and friendly and I have really enjoyed studying here thus far. It’s undeniably different from high school; there is a lot more self-studying. It takes a while to get used to university life but the lecturers and staff at the university are amazing! They are always ever-willing to guide us so do not hesitate to contact them when needed.
I stayed at Pollock Halls, a catered university accommodation. It was great; there is no need to think further about what to eat come meal times!
Moving from Malaysia to Scotland
The hospitality shown by the people in Edinburgh has made it an amazing two years here. I did not find it difficult to adapt to the environment here in Edinburgh. However, one major change would be the weather. It can be rather chilly at times so do get proper clothing to ensure better insulation. Apart from that, it will be a wonderful journey!
