FYC 2025

FYC 2025 logoFirstly, congratulations and a warm welcome to all new medical students!! We are the Final Year Committee 2025, or FYC 2025, the official representatives of all second year Edinburgh medics, who will soon be your very own academic parents to love (and get pay back on revenge night.)

Running Academic Families and a variety of social events, we are keen to make your fresher experience special and memorable. From eye-catching fancy dress to (opt-in!) challenges, fun finds itself in many forms. The FYC2025 are here to host the biggest and best nights to enable you to get to know your year group and the year above.

Apart from all the crazy but wholesome moments, AcFams is a fantastic scheme that pairs you up with your very own second year parents and first year siblings, supporting your transition into medical school. Your loving parents are here to provide everything from full-length essays to home-cooked meals, both seasoned with love and care. While adoption night and revenge night are a chance to party hard, if you don’t drink for any reason that’s perfectly okay; we aim to have socials that everyone can enjoy!

We know many of you will be fretting about a variety of things… we’d like to reassure you it’s normal to be nervous and all will be fine in September. Send us any queries you have, looking forward to meet you all soon, whatever state you’re in xx
