A new book on the links between the Scottish Highlands and Empire has been written by the researcher David Alston.

Titled Slaves and Highlanders: Silenced Histories of Scotland and the Caribbean, Alston’s book builds on his extensive body of research on the the archives and family papers of the highland community – some of which can be viewed on the author’s website here.
