Session Description

This asynchronous on-line session will allow you to share your thoughts and ideas on the future of teaching and learning following the Covid-19 pandemic.  Together we will reflect on key questions that arose during the pandemic, sharing our experience and our ideas to create a dynamic mind map on Padlet.

This session is run by the Master of Family Medicine (MFM) team.  The MFM is an on-line programme aspiring to create future leaders in primary healthcare.  Many of our students are front line health workers in low and middle income countries who continue to experience very difficult circumstances due to Covid-19.  The pandemic has challenged our team to adapt and innovate the way we delivered teaching to our students. Our experiences were shared with a group of medical educators from around the world and the results of the discussion published here *. In summary we concluded that the post-Covid era may result in more focus on accessible on-line learning integrating well-being, equity and social accountability whilst building reliance through engagement with international community of practice.

We would like to open up this discussion to a wider audience via the teaching and learning conference. We are interested in utilising the diversity of educational experience of conference delegates to create an open and dynamic discussion. Our tutoring team and students will be involved in facilitating this activity remotely from around the world.

This work will feed in to the Curriculum Transformation Programme at the University of Edinburgh.  We plan to publish the results as a series of blogs.
