今年の学園祭で、私のグループはゲームセンターのような屋台を行いました。いろいろなゲームを用意して、ニンテンドースイッチのゲーム、チェス、カードゲーム、けん玉などがありました。屋台のために、私はニンテンドースイッチとテレビを持ってきました。また、景品としてお菓子や飲み物も用意しました。とても楽しい学園祭でした。

私のグループのインタビューとリサーチで、日本にとって歴史や伝統を守ることが大切です。多くの日本の祭りは伝統に関わります。日本の祭りに行きたいです。留学中に、日本のお祭りに行くことで、日本の文化や伝統を学んで、体験するのが楽しみです。

For Gakuensai this year my group did an ‘game-centre’ themed stall, with a variety of games. We had Nintendo switch games, chess, card games, and kendama. My personal contribution was bringing my Nintendo Switch and TV for the stall. My group also brought snacks and drinks for the stall as rewards for people winning games. Just like last year, I had a great time experiencing other groups stalls, manning my own group’s stall, and socialising with all my peers in Japanese studies.

From this years’ Gakuensai interviews and research, I found history and keeping traditions are very important to Japan. Lots of festivals in Japan are rooted in traditions. I am very excited to go experience festivals in Japan during my year abroad, to enjoy them, and learn more about Japanese culture and traditions.
