We’ve attended the ‘Structure and function of the insect central complex’ conference (at janelia)
Barbara, Evri, and Anna attended the central complex (CX) conference at the Janelia Research Campus last week.
Barbara was invited to talk about the group’s computational models that contributed to explaining the role and function of the CX.
Anna presented her newest model and data that work towards explaining how honeybees decode their conspecifics’ wiggle dance to a flower location. Evri presented his newest model, suggesting how the anatomy of the CX could use input from the mushroom bodies (MB) to implement a visual route-following behaviour for desert ants.
